LABELS AND PACKAGING OPERATIONS INTELLIGENCE

An AI analyst
for your
converting plant.

Even a well-run converting operation loses time and money in places no one has time to look. The answers are in your MIS, workflow tools and emails, but it's more than anyone can read while the presses run. An AI analyst reads all of it every day and finds the hidden losses. It takes routine office work off your team, so they have time for customers and operations. And before it suggests a change to how you work, it tests that change on your past jobs. You run the plant; GistBot does the looking.

You approve every action. If your team needs something automated that we don't have yet, we build it with you.

STEP 1

A discovery across
five areas of the plant.

30 minutes with the owner or plant manager, then your exports. We map how the plant runs, what holds it back and what's still unclear, and that decides where the analyst starts.

01Quote to invoice

RFQ, estimate, order entry, proof approval, invoicing. Hand-offs, sign-offs and where information arrives late.

02Production flow

Prepress, plates and dies, press scheduling, finishing, inspection, shipping. Queues, changeovers and the bottleneck that sets how much the plant can ship.

03Material flow

Substrate purchasing, roll stock, remnants, overs, waste and customer-owned finished goods.

04Systems and records

MIS, PrintOS, accounting, spreadsheets and manual logs. Which decisions each one supports, and which records exist for each flow.

05Priorities and history

Management's current priorities, past improvement projects and their results, and features already bought but not in use.

STEP 2

We find missed money
and automate routine work.

Your team spends hours chasing, cross-checking and re-keying. The analyst does the reading and prepares each finding for your approval. The six below are where most plants start. Anything else your plant needs automated, we build with your team.

01GET PAID

Unbilled changes.

Artwork, quantity and spec changes after proof approval that never reached the invoice.

You get

A change-charge summary for each job, with the proof, revision history and your terms.

02KEEP MARGIN

Repeats at stale prices.

Substrate, ink and liner costs moved. The repeat price did not.

You get

A cost comparison for each repeat job and a price change with the numbers behind it.

03FREE UP CASH

Customer stock past its term.

Blanket-order goods sitting in the warehouse beyond the agreed period.

You get

For each account: a release schedule, extension terms or a settlement figure.

04WIN JOBS

Quotes stalled on price.

A different substrate, roll size or finishing method could hit the price and still hold margin.

You get

A costed alternative spec, with its margin and the approvals it needs.

05SAVE TIME

RFQs waiting on legwork.

Specs, plate and die history, material pricing and customer rules pulled before anyone can quote.

You get

A first-pass estimate from your own rules, with missing specs flagged.

06AVOID RUSH

Tooling headed for rush.

Incomplete plate and die requests and supplier quotes that cannot be compared.

You get

Complete requests and a supplier comparison on spec, price, freight and lead time.

+Ask us to automate something

Tell us the routine that eats your team's week. We write down what starts it, what it needs, what you should get back and where you approve it. Then we build it on your data and add it to your analyst's skills. Requests from one plant become tools for the next.

Typical first findings, not a fixed menu. As each one closes, we report money recovered, margin kept, costs avoided and hours saved, separately.

STEP 3

We test changes
on your past jobs.

We take a jobs basket, a fixed set of your recent jobs with their costs and delivery commitments, and run each possible change against it. If a change comes out ahead, we propose it with a plan to try it. If not, we drop it.

01Trade delivery flexibility for freight and press savings.

A credit for a wider delivery window when it lets you combine shipments or gang jobs. Checks: does the saving beat the credit and the risk to service?

02Take inspection off the bottleneck.

Send repeat jobs that qualify to a spare inspection rewinder. Checks: is there staff to run it, and can the freed hours be sold?

03Hold master rolls, not finished goods.

Print to master rolls and finish to order. Checks: who takes the loss if stock goes obsolete, and does every release still ship on time?

04Get more product from every roll.

Approved uses for remnants; layouts shifted so a known edge defect falls in the trim. Checks: how much can you actually recover after handling and re-approval?

05Cut roll changes on long runs.

Larger-diameter rolls on jobs that can take them. Checks: which jobs really benefit once every step is counted, rewinder included?

06Rethink finishing for repeat work.

In-house versus a trade finisher or preconverted stock. Checks: do waste and bottleneck savings beat the extra cost and freight?

These are examples. We propose nothing until it has been tested on your jobs basket.

LATER

We look for sales
in your order history.

Most growth comes from accounts you already serve. The analyst reads your order history every week and flags what a good salesperson would act on.

01KEEP YOUR CUSTOMERS

Repeats that slipped.

Six-week reorders now at ten. You get: a reorder watch list with expected date, last spec and price, and a proposal the CSR can send.

02SELL WIDER

Products they buy elsewhere.

Sleeves, pouches or variable-data work you could match. You get: a package proposal with costs based on your equipment.

03FILL THE PRESS

Open press hours, matched to demand.

Hours open next month; accounts due. You get: accounts and jobs to fill the gap, with offer price and margin.

Nothing goes to a customer until your sales team approves it.

WHO WE ARE

GistBot Labs.

An independent AI company. We build AI systems that come up with many possible answers to a problem, test each against the data, and keep only what holds up. This page applies that approach to converting plants.

TRACK RECORD

Prize-winning on InnoCentive.

InnoCentive is where global manufacturers and foundations post real problems and pay only for solutions that pass expert review. Our system has won several prizes there, including in a Gates Foundation-backed agriculture challenge.
